Our Story

Porscha Drummer, affectionately known as Polly, is the heart and hands behind Polly’s Cakes & Bakes a soulful baking brand rooted in love, legacy, and tradition. Born in Seattle, Washington, Polly was raised by her grandmother, Mary Corley, a cherished community baker whose kitchen was always filled with warmth, faith, and the sweet aroma of homemade desserts.

Growing up in the church, Polly learned early on that baking was more than just a skill it was a way to bring people together. Her grandmother baked for church gatherings, neighbors, and friends, pouring love into every pound cake and pie she made. It was in that kitchen, side by side with her grandmother, that Polly discovered her passion and began learning the art of old-fashioned Southern baking recipes made from scratch, techniques passed down through generations, and flavors that feel like home.

After the passing of her beloved grandmother in June 2024, Polly felt called to return to baking not only to honor her grandmother’s legacy but to continue the love she poured into her community. Polly’s Cakes & Bakes is a reflection of that legacy, carrying forward the same care, intention, and soulful flavor that defined her grandmother’s work.

Specializing in rich, moist pound cakes and creamy, decadent cheesecakes, Polly brings both tradition and creativity into every dessert she makes. While those are her signature treats, her talent extends across a variety of baked goods, each made with precision, passion, and a personal touch.

As a proud Black woman business owner, Polly is committed to building something meaningful not just a business, but a brand that represents heritage, resilience, and love. Every cake tells a story, every bite carries history, and every order is made with the same spirit her grandmother instilled in her: to serve others with joy, excellence, and heart.

Polly’s Cakes & Bakes isn’t just about desserts it’s about legacy, community, and keeping tradition alive, one sweet creation at a time.
